How long does it take to find a nanny?
Our agency has placed nannies in as short as 24 hours and frequently helps families who have less than 2 weeks to find a nanny, but we recommend 6-8 weeks to select the best possible candidates for your family. Starting the search sooner will not hurt either. Many of our families contact us months in advance, which enables us to consider many more applicants in considering the right match for your specific needs.
How old are your nannies and what type of experience do they have?
We accept nannies who are 21 years of age and older, as long as they still have lots of energy for your children. We know every family is unique and we listen carefully to your requests to only send you candidates who have the experience and age you are looking for in your nanny.
How much should we pay our nanny?
Nanny pay varies greatly by location, experience of the nanny, and set requirements for the position. Contact our office to learn more about specific hourly rates.
Do we pay taxes on the nanny’s salary?
Yes. Nannies are classified as household employees by the IRS and tax laws do exist. Our agency has resources to help your family with nanny payroll.
What happens if our nanny leaves?
If your nanny leaves for any reason, we offer the following credit policy toward your next nanny:
- Within 1-60 days: Credit of 75% of the Long Term Placement Fee paid to EWN for the nanny.
- Within 61-120 days: Credit of 50% of the Long term Placement fee paid to EWN for the nanny.
- Within 121-180 days: Credit of 25% of the long term placement fee paid to EWN for the nanny.
- Within 181-365 days: Credit of 10% of the long term placement fee paid to EWN for the nanny.
What sets your agency apart from other agencies?
Nurturing Relationships. We meet in person with all of our families and nannies to help ensure the best match. We believe the foundation for a good nanny and family relationship lies within the character of the person(s), the competence and understanding of set requirements, as well as the chemistry between the pair. We develop relationships with our families and nannies by taking the time to get to know who you are and what your family needs.
I highly recommend Amy and East Wind Nannies. Amy is professional. Personable. Smart. Has excellent follow through. We recently moved to Pittsburgh from New York City, where we had to leave a nanny who had become like part of the family. While I was accustomed to leaving my children so I could work, I was feeling nervous and anxious about the prospect of replacing our previous nanny. Amy listened to our concerns, and we now have someone who has fit into our lives seamlessly. My children are squeaky clean, fed and most importantly, laughing and having a ball when I get home. I will use Amy’s services in the future and will continue to recommend her. What could be more important than who you leave your children with? Amy’s services are worth EVERY Penny.”
